Rail

You can reach Edinburgh by train from all over Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Edinburgh has two main train stations:

  • Edinburgh Waverley is in the city centre, and is a 10-15 minute walk from the University's Central Area
  • Haymarket is located to the west of the city centre. It is 15 minutes' walk from the Edinburgh College of Art.

There is also a minor suburban rail network serving some neighbourhoods in the west and east of the city.
