The survey runs annually and aims to inform improvements to transport services in and around the University as well as helping to reach the target of net zero carbon by 2040. It will inform a review of our Integrated Transport Plan 2023-30.

The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and as a thank you for your time you can opt to enter into a prize draw to win one of ten £50 vouchers to spend at local shops and restaurants (Edinburgh Gift Card).

The Covid-19 pandemic has influenced how and when we travel. Our last survey was carried out during Spring 2022, as social distancing restrictions were coming to an end. Since then it is likely that our travel behaviours and our working / studying patterns have continued to change and the aim of the 2023 Commuter Travel Survey is to capture this.

Many of us have adapted to working and studying from home or we have adopted a hybrid pattern of working from home and coming in to the University. Please complete this survey even if you are fully studying or working from home. (The only exception to this is if you are studying an online-only course and would not normally travel to campus - in this case, please do not complete the survey).

If you have any questions, please contact transport@ed.ac.uk.
